Noise from wind turbines: It is a requirement in the executive order on technical certification and servicing of wind turbines, that there is a source noise measurement carried out in accordance with Danish regulation. In Denmark, specific requirements have been set for noise measurements, etc. on wind turbines in the Executive Order on Noise for Wind Turbines, which includes rules on the measurement of low-frequency noise. The rules are issued by the Ministry of Environment of Denmark

International standards for technical certification of wind turbines
The legal requirements for certification follow (with a few exceptions) the minimum requirements for wind turbine safety and health, which are set in international technical standards and certification procedures for wind turbine systems prepared under the standardisation body IEC and the certification system IECRE. The purpose of the certification is to demonstrate compliance with the technical standards.
The use of the term “minimum requirements” implies that there is freedom of method. Other standards and procedures can be used, as long as they at least correspond to the relevant requirements set out in Executive Order no. 1773 in terms of safety.
In addition to meeting the requirements for technical certification and servicing, wind turbines must always comply with other applicable legislation.
The Executive Order no. 1773 refers to the following international standards and procedures for certification of wind turbines and wind turbine projects:
Type and prototype certification of wind turbines with a rotor area exceeding 5 m2 and up to and including 200 m2: IEC 61400-22:2010 Wind turbines - Part 22: Conformity testing and certification
Type and prototype certification of wind turbines with a rotor area over 200 m2: IECRE OD-501:2018 Type and Component Certification Scheme.
Project certification of wind turbines with rotor area over 200 m2: IECRE OD-502:2018 Project Certification Scheme.
