Wind turbine owners, persons, and companies who already are licensed to carry out service on specific wind turbines pursuant to section 9 (3) and (4), in Executive Order no. 73 of 25 January 2013 on a technical certification scheme for wind turbines, can continue to service the covered wind turbines during the period of validity of the licence cf. section 20.(1) of the Executive Order.
Renewal of valid licence to carry out self-service
Upon renewal of the licence, the wind turbine owner must apply before the expiry of the current licence’s validity period pursuant section 20 of the Executive Order. Renewal is granted with a duration of 3 years.
Upon renewal of the licence, there is a requirement that:
- The wind turbine owner is still able to document relevant training and sufficient knowledge of service for the wind turbine in question, and
- that the wind turbine has been serviced during the previous licence period in accordance with the service manual of the wind turbine and the requirements of this Executive Order.
The Danish Energy Agency may also request confirmation from the owner of the wind turbine in question, if a person or company applies for renewal of licence to service a wind turbine that they do not own.
A licence to carry out self-service becomes void if the wind turbine is sold.
